Ever since the babies were about 3 pounds, Boris and I started really looking forward to some sweet baby smiles. When they were tiny, they would give us things that *looked* like smiles, though we were aware it was more likely a poop/gas face. We both agreed that we could be patient for all other milestones. We don't need our babies to grow fast as long as they are healthy. We can wait for them to crawl/walk/talk, etc. But please, give us smiles so we know we are doing something right! When the first smiles started to show up around 1 month adjusted age, we kept hoping that they were the beginnings of "real" smiles, for once not caused by gas. Soon enough they started smiling at things consistently, so we were sure they were real. Hurray for smiles!
Here are some of the early smiles:
Alexis and Amelia think mobiles are the BEST. See?
They also love it when people speak Russian to them (especially Amelia):
Amelia loved the sweet "baby throne" that uncle Jason set up for her. It's almost like she's sitting up like a big girl!
Other babies can be pretty funny too… sometimes.
And of course we can't forget BATH TIME!
Overall they must think life if pretty good now. Still lots of screaming in the evenings, but mornings are all smiles!!
